Introduction

This is a huge list so please don't get overwhelmed by the sheer number of gloves. It's hard to keep the list small because there really are a lot of great snowboard gloves out there.

I had a really hard time putting them in order because there are so many gloves that deserve to be high on the list so don't get too wrapped up in the order here.

Every pair of gloves on this list is great and they all have their strengths and weaknesses which I'll point out below.

Most of these gloves could be considered "the best pair" so even the ones later on the list like 10-17 are amazing gloves.

To make it a little easier I've chosen three pairs that I wanted to highlight, each for their own reason, Best Overall, Best Value and Warmest Overall.

Best Overall

Burton Gore-Tex

Best Value

Dakine Scout

Warmest Overall

Black Diamond Guide

Now I'll get to the reviews of each pair of gloves. I'll explain what materials they're made from, what features they have, how warm they are, how waterproof they are, how comfortable they are, how the dexterity is and how durable they are.

#1. Burton Gore-Tex

Price: Click For Price

Where To Buy: Amazon

Pro's

  • Very Warm
  • Touchscreen Compatible
  • Great Value

Con's

  • No Con's
Category Score
Dexterity 9/10
Comfort 10/10
Warmth 9/10
Water Resistance 10/10
Features 9/10
Durability 10/10
Value 9/10

When it comes to snowboard gear I'v always been a huge fan of Burton so I had very high expectations for these gloves and as you can see they didn't let me down.

I've owned and reviewed multiple Burton jackets over the years and I've always liked them and pretty much exclusively used Burton jackets when shredding.

These gloves are really good value especially when you compare them to some of the other gloves on this list.

They're Gore-Tex (obviously) which means they'll keep the moisture out even on the wettest days.

The palm is leather and fully touchscreen compatible which I value more than I probably should but don't judge me for that.

Features:

  • snot wipe on both thumbs
  • medium size gauntlet
  • draw string on the end of the gauntlet
  • tension strap and buckle around each wrist
  • zipper pocket for heat packs or other small things of your choice
  • hook and loop to clip them together
  • ThermacoreTM insulation
  • microfibre fixed lining

So they have all the things that the expensive gloves have but without the high price tag. Sure there are equally good pairs of gloves or mittens on this list but none of them are this cheap.

#2. Black Diamond Guide

Pro's

  • Extremely Warm
  • Very Durable
  • Big Gauntlet

Con's

  • Poor Dexterity
  • A Bit Bulky

Water Resistance 9/10
Features 8/10
Durability 10/10
Value 9/10

These Black Diamond Guide gloves are super popular with the big mountain hardcore shredder types. You know the ones who ride every possible day and basically live on the mountain all winter long.

The reason these gloves are so popular with that crowd is mainly because of their extreme warmth and durability.

Sure there a little on the pricey side but when you're putting in long days all winter long you'll need something that can take a lot of abuse.

These are the gloves that will hold up to that lifestyle.

Features:

  • goat skin palm and back of hand
  • large gauntlet made of nylon/spandex
  • draw string on end of gauntlet
  • foam padding on knuckles for impact
  • removable Gore-tex liner
  • soft polyester lining

These gloves are also available in a standard glove if you're not into the three finger style.

I think the three finger style makes a lot of sense because you get (almost) the same warmth as a mitten but a lot better dexterity than the mitt.

With that being said I did say that poor dexterity was a "con" of these gloves and that's because they are pretty bulky and stiff so even with the three finger style the dexterity isn't great.

But I've read that they do loosen up a lot after long term use which would help.

All in all these are awesome gloves that are definitely worth the price tag.

#3. Hestra Army Leather Heli

Where To Buy: Amazon

Pro's

  • Very Comfortable
  • Very Durable
  • Nice Looking

Con's

  • White Leather Gets Dirty
  • No Nose Wipe Panel
Category Score
Dexterity 9/10
Comfort 10/10
Warmth 7/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 8/10
Durability 10/10
Value 9/10

Hestra gloves pretty much always make the top 10 lists these days because simply put they're just made really well.

The way they fit your hand cannot be beaten. I gave them a 10/10 for comfort and I'll go out on a limb here and say that they're the most comfortable pair on this list.

You can guarantee that they will stand the test of time as the quality is also top notch.

Features:

  • goat skin leather
  • Gore-tex membrane
  • soft fiberfill insulation
  • bemberg/polyester lining
  • medium size gauntlet
  • draw string on the end of the gauntlet
  • velcro buckle around each wrist
  • carabiner and eye hole for securing them together
  • eagle grip handcuffs for yard sale prevention

So I did say that the white leather can start to get dirty and show stains after a while but it's really not that bad. Definitely not a deal breaker but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I personally love the look of the white and would not be too concerned about stains.

These are a very high end pair of gloves that will last you a long long time, maybe even a lifetime.

#4. Outdoor Research Alti

Outdoor Research knows what they're doing when it comes to winter gear. These come in both a glove or a mitten.

I love all the features of these gloves. They have every feature I could ever want except the snot wiper of course but I can get over that.

They come in Men's and Women's cuts and they come in a few different color options.

The price is a little on the high side but you are getting a premium product made with high end materials along with a great warranty so I'd say it's worth the money.

Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Breathable
  • Windproof
  • Wicking
  • AlpenGrip Palm
  • Removable liner
  • Removable leash
  • Carabiner Loop
  • Pull-on loop
  • Glove Clip
  • Silicon grip lined palm
  • Touchscreen compatible
  • Medium gauntlet
  • Draw string on gauntlet
  • Wrist cinch

That's a lot of features and I like all of these features. Some gloves use gimmicky features but these ones are all useful.

Aside from the features these are just warm and comfortable gloves so you really can't go wrong with them.

#5. Arc'teryx Fission

Durability 9/10
Value 9/10

Arc'teryx never lets you down when it comes to quality winter gear. These are fantastic gloves that have been getting rave reviews all around the internet.

It's for good reason too. In terms of comfort they are almost is comfy as the Hestra Heli gloves and that's saying a lot.

You've probably figured out that I love a good snot wiper so I was a little disappointed these gloves don't have one but I think I'll get over it.

These also come in a mitten.

Features:

  • Gore-Tex membrane
  • Primaloft insulation
  • Leather palm and finger tips
  • Medium size gauntlet
  • Draw string on end of gauntlet
  • Clip for tethering together

So there you have it. You can probably see why these gloves have been so popular after reading this. I really enjoyed testing these gloves.

#6. Outdoor Research Arete

Where To Buy: Amazon

Pro's

  • Heat Pack Pocket
  • Grip on liner
  • Nose Wiper Panel

Con's

  • No Wrist Cinch
Category Score
Dexterity 9/10
Comfort 8/10
Warmth 8/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 9/10
Durability 9/10
Value 9/10

Yet another pair of Outdoor Research gloves that I absolutely love. These Arete gloves are quite similar to the Alti gloves but there are a few key differences.

One difference is that these ones have grip on the removable liner which makes these gloves a little bit more versatile.

The downside to the grip on the liner is that you can feel it a little bit so when you're wearing the whole setup it affects the comfort a small amount. So it's kind of a pro and a con but overall I'd say more of a pro.

Another difference is that these gloves don't have a wrist cinch, instead they just have an elastic around the wrist which is too bad.

On the bright side, there is a snot wiper on these ones which you know I love.

Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Breathable
  • Windproof
  • Wicking
  • AlpenGrip Palm
  • Removable liner
  • Heat pack pocket
  • Removable leash
  • Pull-on loop
  • Glove clip
  • Carabiner loop
  • Silicon grip on palm
  • Elastic wrist
  • Medium gauntlet
  • Draw strip on gauntlet

With all those features these are a pretty easy choice for your next pair of snowboard gloves.

I would highly recommend them and I think they're definitely worth the money considering the very high quality of these gloves.

#7. Hestra Morrison Pro Model

Price: Click For Price

Where To Buy: Amazon

Pro's

  • Super Comfy
  • Great Protection
  • Mostly Leather

Con's

  • No Gauntlet
  • No nose wipe panel
  • thumbs-down
    No Touchscreen
Category Score
Dexterity 8/10
Comfort 10/10
Warmth 8/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 8/10
Durability 9/10
Value 9/10

To be honest these gloves were actually made with skiing in mind more so than snowboarding which is why they have so much padding on the back of the hand and knuckles.

Personally I love having some good padding on the back of the hand when riding as well because I love to rip in the tree and in the park where extra protection is never a bad thing.

These gloves are also extremely comfy. As with any Hestra gloves these are made to be form fitting and they pretty much just hug the shape of your hand which is awesome for those long days on the mountain.

They also come in a three finger mitten which will give you the extra warmth if that's what you're looking for.

Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Windproof
  • Breathable
  • Thermolite polyester insulation
  • Hand cuffs
  • Small wrist cuff
  • Velcro strap around wrists
  • Proofed cowhide leather and proofed goat leather
  • Padded back of hand and knuckles
  • Multiple color options

So much like any Hestra glove I've ever tested these Morrison Pro gloves are awesome. The lack of gauntlet doesn't necessarily have to be a con as it's more of a preference thing.

If that's what you like than these might be the perfect gloves for you.

#8. Arc'teryx Alpha Ar

Pro's

  • Great Dexterity
  • Great Durability

Con's

  • No Touchscreen
  • No Nose Wiper
  • Not Super Warm

Dexterity 10/10
Comfort 9/10
Warmth 7/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 8/10
Durability 10/10
Value 8/10

These are some sick gloves. Another Arc'teryx pair that has made this list and these ones might just be the perfect gloves for you.

If you value dexterity, comfort and durability above all then these are definitely a great option.

They're made for serious mountaineering which is why they're built so tough.

They're not crazy warm but the trade off is that they have great dexterity which is nice when messing around with bindings, zippers and goggles etc.

Not touchscreen compatible which is a bit of a shame but some people truly don't care about that.

Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Windproof
  • Breathable
  • Gore-Tex
  • Lightweight
  • Tough outer shell
  • Removable liner
  • Knuckle protection
  • Medium-Long gauntlet
  • Reinforced palm

So these may not be the perfect gloves for everyone out there but there certainly are a lot of people whom these gloves will be perfect for.

I really like them and they've been getting awesome reviews all over the internet so they might just be your next pair.

#9. Dakine Scout

Pro's

  • Leather Palm
  • Nose Wiper
  • Not Expensive

Con's

  • Lacking Dexterity
  • Not Rugged
Category Score
Dexterity 7/10
Comfort 8/10
Warmth 8/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 9/10
Durability 9/10
Value 10/10

So these Dakine Scout snowboarding gloves were my pick for "Best Value" which essentially means best budget.

These are some really reasonably priced gloves especially when you consider all the features that these gloves come with.

Basically they come with the same great features as some of the gloves that are more than twice the price of these ones.

I want it to be clear that the exterior of these gloves aren't touchscreen compatible but the liners are.

Or course features aren't everything and what these gloves are lacking is dexterity and possibly even durability.

I'm not saying that these gloves are poor quality but it's not hard to see that they were made using cheaper materials than the more expensive gloves which would explain the price difference.

With that being said, if you're not a hardcore rider that spends every possible day on the mountain you wouldn't need that kind of durability anyways and so these might be perfect for you.

Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Windproof
  • Breathable
  • High loft synthetic insulation
  • 150G tricot lining
  • Touchscreen compatible liner
  • Nose Wiper Panel
  • Removable wrist leash
  • Medium gauntlet or small gauntlet
  • Leather palm

These gloves are unisex and they're also available in a small or medium gauntlet as well as a glove or a mitten version.

So they're trying to cover all their bases with the Scout model and they're doing a pretty good job of that I'd say.

#10. Dakine Titan

Where To Buy: Amazon

Pro's

  • Leather Palm
  • Nose Wiper Panel
  • Fair Price

Con's

  • Not Rugged
  • Poor Dexterity
Category Score
Dexterity 7/10
Comfort 8/10
Warmth 8/10
Water Resistance 9/10
Features 10/10
Durability 9/10
Value 9/10

These Titan gloves are very similar to the Scout but these gloves have a couple extra features that make them about $20 more expensive.

You might wonder why I ranked the Titans below the Scouts if the Titans actually have more features. Let me explain.

If you look at the table where I score them in the 7 categories out of 10 they both scored a 60. So basically they were a tie.

I decided to put the Scout gloves higher up on the list simply because they were cheaper and I thought they're value was exceptional.

The only difference between these gloves is that the Titans are Gore-Tex and the Titans have a heat pack pocket in the back of the hand.

Features:

  • Windproof
  • Waterproof
  • Breathable
  • High loft synthetic insulation
  • 150G tricot lining
  • Touchscreen compatible liner
  • Nose Wiper Panel
  • Removable wrist leash
  • Medium gauntlet or small gauntlet
  • Leather palm
  • Gore-Tex
  • Heat pack pocket
  • So whether you prefer the Titan cause of the two extra features or you're OK without the heat pack pocket and Gore-tex, either way you'll have a good pair of gloves for a reasonable price.

    They look good too.

    #11. Seirus Hellfire

    Price: Click For Price

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Crazy Warm
    • Mostly Leather
    • Very Durable

    Con's

    • Poor Dexterity
    • Expensive
    Category Score
    Dexterity 6/10
    Comfort 9/10
    Warmth 10/10
    Water Resistance 9/10
    Features 9/10
    Durability 9/10
    Value 7/10

First and foremost, these mittens are heated. I wanted to get that out there right away because some people don't want to worry about charging batteries and changing them and stuff.

But if you're main concern is warmth then these are definitely the best option because they're by far the warmest gloves on this list and it's not even really close.

The Black Diamond Guide gloves are probably the warmest non-heated pair on the list but these Seirus Hellfire mittens blow them out of the water.

I've reviewed a lot of heated gloves and mittens (See my top 10 Heated Gloves list here) and these Seirus Hellfires are some of the best.

    Features:

    • Waterproof
    • Windproof
    • Breathable
    • 280G Heatlock insulation
    • Premium Leather/Softshell exterior
    • 3 heat settings
    • 12 hours of heat on lowest setting
    • Medium Gauntlet
    • Drawstring on end of Gauntlet
    • Wrist cinch strap
    • Small pocket on back of hand

These mitts are unisex and also come in a regular glove style if mittens aren't your thing. If you go for the mittens the dexterity is much improved.

Heated gloves are becoming much more popular and the technology has come a long way. They really are amazing.

    #12. Dakine Tundra Gore-Tex

    Price: Click For Price

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Very Warm
    • Good Value
    • Comfy

    Con's

    • Absorbs Water
    • Not Super Durable
    Category Score
    Dexterity 7/10
    Comfort 9/10
    Warmth 9/10
    Water Resistance 9/10
    Features 8/10
    Durability 7/10
    Value 9/10

So these Dakine mitts are very competitive with the higher end brands and not quite as pricey as well so they scored pretty well here.

They are waterproof and your hands will stay dry in very wet conditions the only downside is that they exterior of them can start to absorb water making the mitts heavy and soggy feeling.

They're super plush and soft though so you'll be very cozy and comfy wearing these for long periods of time which is nice.

The leather palm is a nice touch as well, it makes them more durable when handling bindings a lot in addition to giving you better grip.

    Features:

    • Gore-Tex lining
    • Leather palm
    • Down/Primaloft filled insulation
    • Removable insert
    • Soft fleece lining
    • Velcro wrist strap

All in all these are a really nice pair of mitts. I like the look of them and I especially like the excellent warmth you get without the high price tag.

    #13. Gordini Promo Gauntlet Gore-Tex

    Price: Click For Price

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Very Waterproof
    • Pretty Cheap
    • Durable

    Con's

    • Not Pretty
    • Not Crazy Warm
    Category Score

    Warmth 7/10
    Water Resistance 10/10
    Features 7/10
    Durability 10/10
    Value 9/10

If you know anything about Gordini then you know that they make a lot of fantastic pairs of gloves.

There are many Gordini gloves that could have made this list but I wanted to keep this list diverse so I chose to only add this one pair of Gordinis.

Gordini was originally a ski brand but they just make great gloves for a great price so you can't really pigeon hole them into either skiing or snowboarding. They're good for both.

These gloves are mostly polyester with high quality stitching and crafted with durability in mind so you can be sure that these will stand up to some very heavy use for a long time.

If you want a functional, durable glove that isn't expensive this is a great option.

    Features:

    • 100% polyester
    • Gore-tex "Guaranteed to keep you dry" lining
    • Wrist strap
    • Gauntlet draw string
    • Lightweight
    • Durable

My only complaints about these gloves are that they aren't super warm so for those crazy cold days you might want to look elsewhere.

Also I wish they had the nose wiper panel but it's all good. Still a great pair of gloves for a really low price.

    #14. Outdoor Research Mute Sensor

    Price: Click For Price

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Lots of Padding
    • Full Leather
    • Low Profile

    Con's

    • Only 2 Colors
    Category Score
    Dexterity 9/10
    Comfort 9/10
    Warmth 7/10
    Water Resistance 8/10
    Features 8/10
    Durability 9/10
    Value 8/10

If you're looking for a tough pair of gloves that will protect your hands from branches and rocks then these might be the ones for you.

These would be awesome for the back country and the resort alike but the extra padding and durability of the leather make them an obvious choice for the back country.

They're low profile and they provide really good dexterity which is why Outdoor Research is promoting them as a great glove for building jumps and they're not wrong.

If you don't like the bright colors they also come in a straight black but unfortunately those are the only two options.

They tend to run a little big so keep that in mind when ordering.

    Features:

    • Full Leather
    • Waterproof insert
    • Touchscreen thumb and index finger
    • Polyester tricot lining
    • Enduraloft insulation
    • Nylon leash around wrist
    • Velcro strap around wrist
    • Small gauntlet fits under sleave
    • Nose Wiping Panel

    #15. Tough Outdoors Gloves

    Price: Click For Price

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Very Cheap

    Con's

    • Not Super Warm
    • Absorb Water
    • Poor Dexterity
    Category Score
    Dexterity 8/10

    Warmth 8/10
    Water Resistance 8/10
    Features 9/10
    Durability 7/10
    Value 8/10

Tough Outdoors makes a few different pairs of winter gloves and these ones are the most popular.

In fact these gloves have probably sold more pairs on Amazon than all the other gloves on this list combined.

The reason these gloves are selling so well is because they have a lot of good features that you see on the more high end gloves but these gloves are a fraction of the price.

So in a way you can get everything you want without spending very much money.

    Features:

    • Touchscreen compatible
    • Water Resistant
    • Synthetic Leather palm
    • Medium gauntlet with draw string
    • Cinch strap around wrist
    • 1 Year Warranty

Before you get too excited let me explain why these aren't as good as their higher end counterparts.

First of all, they're only water resistant so they won't keep your hands dry in real wet conditions. They actually start to absorb water which isn't very comfortable.

Although they are considered touchscreen compatible it's really only the thumb that works and not any other fingers.

The dexterity of these gloves is lacking which makes them bulky and not too comfy.

With all that being said they are still a pretty good glove especially for the very low price so if you're not a hardcore rider these might be just fine for you.

If you're hardcore and hit the mountains regularly then you'll probably want to go for something a little higher on this list.

    #16. MCTI Waterproof

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    • Waterproof

    Water Resistance 9/10
    Features 7/10
    Durability 7/10
    Value 8/10

These MCTI Waterproof gloves are a very well rounded gloves with some great features that I didn't expect from such a budget friendly pair of gloves.

They're really comfy because they aren't super bulky which means you don't need to take them off as often to complete dexterous tasks.

With that being said you will need to take them off to operate a touchscreen because these gloves are not compatible with such devices.

Other than that they have just about all the features you could ever want.

    Features:

    • Nose Wipe Panel
    • Soft Rubber Palm
    • Reinforced Fingertips
    • Waterproof Liner
    • Heated Warmer Pocket
    • 3M Thinsulate Insulation
    • Wrist Cinch Strap
    • Medium Gauntlet
    • Draw String on Gauntlet

So all in all these are great gloves for a low price. Most people have a difficult time deciding between these gloves and the tough outdoors gloves.

These gloves are more comfortable than the Tough Outdoors gloves and more waterproof as well but the Tough Outdoors gloves are touchscreen compatible which might be important to you.

They both scored the same overall but I put the Tough Outdoors gloves higher on the list only because they're a little bit cheaper but these two pairs are very close and it just depends on what you value more.

    #17. Kinco 901 Pigskin Leather

    Where To Buy: Amazon

    Pro's

    Features 7/10
    Durability 9/10
    Value 9/10

Although these gloves lack the features that many of the other pairs on this list have they almost make up for it in durability.

If durability is high on your priority then these might be exactly what you're looking for.

They're full leather with extra leather patches on the high impact zones so you can expect these gloves to stand up to a lot of heavy use.

If you also like simplicity, these might be right for you.

You can look at them and think that they really lack features which is a draw back or you can look at them from a completely different perspective and say that they're beautifully simple.

    Features:

    • Full Cowhide Leather
    • HeatKeep Thermal Lining
    • NikWax Coating for Waterproofing
    • Extra Reinforcement on Palms
    • Also Comes in a Mitten

So there you have it. The final glove on this list is the most simple but also one of the cheapest so keep that in mind when making your decision.

I personally prefer a pair of snowboard gloves to have more features just because I feel it gives them more versatility but that's just my opinion and I know a lot of people love these Kinco gloves.
