21 Best Gloves For Raynaud’s Disease – The Ultimate Guide

November 1, 2019 by 17 Comments

hand warmers from amazon

Here’s my ultimate guide on the best gloves for people with Raynaud’s disease. I’ve compiled a list of 21 of the best gloves for just about every possible situation in life.

I’ve struggled with Raynaud’s my entire life and my ultimate goal is to pass along the knowledge I’ve gained and hopefully help a few people to better cope with this awful disease.

This article is going to be long and thorough so feel free to skip ahead to the category that you’re most interested in.

I’ve broken down this list into categories. Under each category I’ve shown you which gloves are my favorites for that particular activity or situation. Here are the categories:

  • At Home

  • Skiing/Snowboarding

  • Walking

  • Winter Work Gloves

  • Driving Gloves

As Raynaud’s sufferers we all know that one pair of gloves is not enough for all of the different circumstances that life puts us in.

Let’s get right to it.

At Home

It took a long time for my family and friends to understand that just because their house is warm and cozy doesn’t mean that my fingers and toes will be warm.

I almost always wear gloves around the house, especially in the winter and I’ve learned that the right pair of gloves are crucial to a comfortable existence.

While at home you don’t need a really warm winter glove nor do you want one. Instead you want a thinner pair of gloves that will give you the dexterity you need to do complete everyday tasks with just enough coverage to prevent a chill.

Touchscreen capability is also a must for around the house. At least for me it is because I’m constantly using some sort of device at home.

All of the gloves in the “At Home” category would also be great for an office environment.

Here’s my top picks for this category in no particular order.

Thermoskin Arthritis Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These gloves are great for around the house. They’re actually designed for people with arthritis but they work great for Raynaud’s as well.

They provide a light compression which helps with circulation and that in turn helps keep your hands warm.

Although they aren’t advertised as a touchscreen compatible glove they do actually work really well with any touchscreen device.

They have a a textured palm which helps for gripping things but not a thick, coarse texture so they’re still comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

You’ll notice how thin they are which makes them great for operating mobile devices, TV remotes, kitchen utensils and more.

I really like these gloves and I highly recommend them.

Vital Salveo Touchscreen Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These might not look like much but they will do exactly what you need them to do.

They provide just enough warmth that you can go about your day without worrying about a flare up. What I really like about these ones is the price.

At $11.99 you really can’t go wrong and believe me, they are more than sufficient as indoor Raynaud’s gloves.

As the name suggests they are compatible with all touchscreen devices so you rarely have to take them off throughout the day.

If you don’t like the grey don’t worry because they come in multiple different colors.

Korlon Wool Convertible Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These are just your standard convertible wool gloves. Nothing fancy about them but they are warm, comfy and extremely versatile.

Having the ability to open the flap and use your actual fingertips is a huge benefit that some people can’t live without (or don’t want to).

These ones are a little thicker than the first two pairs I showed which makes them even warmer. The downside is that when the flap is covering your fingertips you don’t have very much dexterity at all.

If you like the idea of a convertible glove but you want something a bit thinner than these I would recommend the Aqua Brand.

Aqua Brand Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These ones are thinner than the Korlon’s so your overall dexterity will be better but they won’t be quite as warm.

Even though they aren’t as warm as the Korlon’s they are still plenty warm enough for in the house.

I also like the long cuff on these ones for added comfort. It just makes it easy to tuck them under your sleeve and once they’re tucked in they won’t come out.

Skiing/Snowboarding

I love to ski. I’ve been a skier my whole life and I’ve never been one to let Raynaud’s symptoms slow me down but I have to say that it didn’t take me long to realize that I need a high end glove.

I actually started using heated gloves for skiing and I have to say that they really are amazing if you get the right ones.

The problem is that there are a lot of cheap made in China brands that are very low quality and they really just give heated gloves a bad name.

The other problem with heated gloves is that they are very expensive if you get a good quality pair. For that reason I’m going to include both heated and non heated gloves in this category.

I also want to add that the gloves in this category are pretty versatile and good for many winter activities and not just Skiing or Snowboarding.

They’re all made with skiing and snowboarding in mind but that’s just because they’re warm, durable, waterproof and windproof.

All the aspects you’ll need when playing in the snow.

Hestra Heater Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

If you haven’t heard of Hestra then you’re in for a real treat. I actually wrote a full review on these gloves because I love them so much.

Yes they’re heated and yes they’re expensive but I’m telling you the truth when I say they’re truly amazing.

Hestra is a family run business in Sweden and they handcraft every pair of gloves in house. No out sourcing.

The family is really passionate about gloves and they put their heart and soul into every detail.

They use only the finest materials and this really shows through.

These gloves are heated and you can change the setting with the push of a button on the back of the palm.

The heat covers the entire hand including all fingers and the thumb so you’re pretty much guaranteed to have warm hands even on the coldest days.

Outdoor Research Lucent

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These are the only other pair of heated gloves that compare to the Hestra Heaters.

They are both pretty much perfect in every way, especially for Raynaud’s sufferers. I also wrote a review on the Lucent gloves and I’ve made it very clear that I love these gloves.

They’re also pretty expensive but you’re getting a lot of value for the money and they do have a lifetime guarantee so you really can’t go wrong.

For all the details like battery life, charge time, cleaning instruction and sizing just head over to my full review of them.

Outdoor Research Alti

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

Here’s another awesome pair of gloves from OR. After reviewing as many pairs of gloves as I have I’ve come to the determination that pretty much anything OR makes is amazing.

The quality of these gloves is right up there with the best of them. These ones aren’t heated which makes them quite a bit cheaper than the Lucent and the Hestra but just because they aren’t heated doesn’t mean they aren’t warm.

They have a little more insulation than the heated ones so they definitely don’t lack in the warmth department.

That extra insulation does slightly reduce the dexterity but not too much really.

Of course they have all the features that you would expect from a high end ski glove like breathability, waterproof, windproof and of course comfort.

These gloves seem to just mold to your hand after wearing them for a day or so. They feel like they were made for you once you wear them in.

Mammut Expert Tour Glove

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

If you’ve ever owned any Mammut gear then you already know how great it is. This European company has been killing it in the winter gear market for quite some time now and for good reason.

They simply make great gear.

These gloves are obviously waterproof, wind proof and breathable but what I really like about them is the cowhide palm.

The leather palm makes them great for griping things like ski poles or snowboard bindings and they also make them very comfortable.

They have two cuff cinch straps so you’ll never have to worry about them coming off.

The interior of them is fleece lined which will keep the cold hands at bay. Basically these are a great option for Raynaud’s sufferers.

Walking The Dog

This category isn’t just about walking the dog but I used that heading because that’s a pretty common thing to do.

Really though, this category is for light outdoor activities like walking, light snow shoveling, winter driving, commuting to work and of course walking the dog.

The gloves in this category won’t have all the features that the Skiing/Snowboarding gloves have because they just don’t need all of them.

When I’m out walking the dog and it’s a bit cold outside I don’t usually want a huge, bulky ski glove because it’s just unnecessary.

I’d much rather have something lower profile, stylish and versatile with some grip. Let’s not forget touchscreen capable.

Sort of like an everyday winter glove.

Vbiger Winter Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These Vbiger gloves offer great value. At just around $13 you’re getting a lot for your money.

They’re slightly technical looking which may or may not be a good thing depending on your preference but I think they look fine.

What I like about them is the fit. They really hug the hand and they have a little bit of stretch to them so they feel nice to wear.

They don’t have insulation but the material itself is pretty thick so they keep your hands warm as long as it’s not extreme conditions.

Both the index fingers and the thumbs are touchscreen compatible and they have just barely enough dexterity to operate an iphone.

The palms and fingers have a silicon printing on them which gives you the ability to grip things whether it be a steering or a dog leash.

Good budget gloves.

North Face Etip Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These are kind of like the higher end version of the Vbiger gloves.

They offer everything the Vbiger gloves offer except you can expect these ones to last a hell of a lot longer because they’re simply just better quality.

Not that the Vbiger is horrible quality by any means but North Face is a leader in the industry and their gear is built to last a long long time.

I think statistically you’re more likely to lose your North Face gloves than wear them out.

In addition to the quality these gloves offer everything you would expect from an everyday pair of gloves.

Decent warmth, windproof, comfortable and touchscreen capability. You really can’t go wrong with these and they sell for less than $40 which is a great deal.

Outdoor Research Flurry

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

outdoor research flurry gloves

These gloves are fantastic. I wear these gloves a lot and they just keep on giving. I wrote a complete review on these ones too.

The one major downfall to them is that they aren’t touchscreen compatible and usually that goes against everything I stand for when it comes to gloves but I make an exception for these ones.

They’re made from a wool blend and as you would expect from OR they’re very durable and well made.

The main reason I like them is because they’re really comfortable. When I go to choose my gloves I so often choose these ones just because of the way they feel.

On top of that they are very warm too.

So if you don’t mind a non touchscreen compatible then I promise you will love these gloves.

Burton Powerstretch Liner

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These gloves are advertised as a liner but they are far more than just that.

The first thing I noticed when I put them on was the awesome grip. This grip is so sticky that you can hardly believe it. Even holding only a freezing cold, wet show shovel these things grip well.

They are touchscreen compatible and the dexterity is great so operating devices is a breeze.

They’re made of a polyester and spandex blend so they have an incredible stretch to them which makes them fit really well.

If you aren’t sure about your size you should check out our sizing guide here and if you think you’re between sizes I would recommend buying the smaller size because they will stretch to fit your hands.

Winter Work Gloves

Working outdoors in the winter can be brutal even for people who don’t have Raynaud’s. For those of us who do, we need great gloves.

The hard part about winter work gloves is that they kind of have to do it all.

They need to be warm, comfortable, not too bulky, waterproof, breathable, windproof, protective and above all, durable.

Here’s my top picks.

Burton Lifty Glove

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These gloves are made for lifty’s. As a lifty you’re constantly handling freezing cold steel chairlifts, power tools, shoveling snow and climbing ladders.

For all intents and purposes this is simply a winter work glove.

I had high expectations for these gloves because I’ve always like Burton gear and they did not disappoint.

The exterior is mostly leather which makes them really durable and I suspect they would last a long time.

They have a fleece lining for that extra comfort and warmth for those really cold days. Warmth is not a concern when you’re wearing these.

The only small concern is the dexterity. They’re a little bulky and so handling small things isn’t all that easy but that’s the case with pretty much any work glove so I guess that’s just life.

Mechanix Wear Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These Mechanix Wear gloves are built to last, even under the toughest conditions that a tradesman can throw at them.

They’re made with a ripstop nylon reinforcement which is not only really strong but it also happens to be waterproof.

The thumb and index fingers are equipped with a touchscreen compatible material so they will work but the dexterity isn’t ideal for using an iphone. But it is possible.

They’ve got a velcro cinch strap so you can snug them up just how you want them. I really like these gloves and I they’ve been getting great reviews online too so that should give you some peace of mind when purchasing.

Carhartt Men’s Winter Dex II Glove

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

This list of work gloves wouldn’t be complete if there wasn’t at least one pair of Carhartts on it.

The most trusted name in the construction industry and definitely the most well known too.

As you would expect these gloves are super tough and durable.

The fingers and palm are made from a synthetic leather while the rest of the exterior is nylon.

They have a storm defender insert that wicks away sweat and moisture while also being breathable and waterproof.

The comfort on these is pretty good too. Nothing to write home about but no real complaints either.

One concern though is the fact that they don’t work with touchscreens.

Volt Heated Work Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

heated work gloves

If you’ve frequented this website at all you’ll know that I’ve reviewed a lot of Volt gloves. I’m a big fan of Volt and they certainly are a leader in the heated gloves industry.

Volt was one of the first companies to make a heated work glove.

Then they perfected it with these ones.

I wrote a full review on these gloves which you can read right here.

HydraHyde Winter Work Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These are a fantastic pair of winter work gloves. Probably the most durable out of all the work gloves on this list.

In addition to being durable they’re also waterproof, windproof and very comfortable.

One negative is that they are sort of hard to take off, especially if they’re damp at all. So if you need to be taking them on and off constantly throughout the work day you might want to look elsewhere.

Driving Gloves

Driving gloves should be fairly thin and offer great dexterity and grip of course.

Usually leather is the best option but definitely not the only option.

While driving obviously you shouldn’t be on your phone or any device for that matter but that doesn’t mean that you don’t need touchscreen compatible gloves anyway.

I still prefer mine to be touchscreen compatible because I often I’ll be parked waiting for something and I like to use my phone at that time.

In addition to that most new cars nowadays have a built in touchscreen and it’s important to be able to operate it without taking off your gloves. Here’s my picks.

Seibertron Original Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These are a very basic glove but they really do feel great while driving. The palms are made of a synthetic leather which gives you amazing grip and control on the steering wheel.

They fit snug and are a very minimalist design. They’re touchscreen compatible too.

They are pretty thin though so I don’t think they would be warm enough for really cold days but they should be enough most days.

Riparo Genuine Leather Driving Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

So these are your very traditional driving gloves like you’ve probably seen in the movies or on TV.

The sole purpose of these gloves is for driving. Whether you’re a performance driver doing stunts on a closed course or just a regular person who enjoys driving these gloves will work for you.

They have the snap buckle at the back of the wrist and the knuckle holes for authenticity.

They should fit snug for superior grip.

Unfortunately they aren’t designed to work with touchscreens because that’s not the point of these. The point is driving.

With that being said they do provide some warmth. I wouldn’t recommend them in the dead of winter because they probably won’t be warm enough but on those cool fall mornings they should be just about right.

Nappaglo Leather Driving Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

When comparing these ones to the Riparo gloves I would say that the Nappaglo gloves are more functional and versatile. Perfect for the everyday driver.

They’re made from Italian Nappa Lambskin leather. Each pair is hand made in Italy by skilled craftsmen who have a lifetime of experience making gloves.

They fit should be snug but not too restricting.

These gloves are a little thicker than the Riparo gloves so they’ll provide much more warmth. They’re warm enough for most winter days even for someone with Raynaud’s.

Another benefit of these ones over the Riparo is that these ones are touchscreen compatible which is another reason why I say these are more versatile.

An extremely comfortable and practical pair of gloves.

Matsu Driving Gloves

Best Place To Buy: Amazon

These ones are comparable to the Nappaglo gloves in the sense that they are warm and versatile but the main difference is the look of them.

I personally like the look of these ones better than the Nappaglo just because I’m not a big fan of the criss cross leather pattern but that is a personal thing.

These come in brown, navy and black which is nice.

They’re also made of Nappa leather excepth it’s imported from Ethiopia instead of Italy.

The best part of these gloves is the lining which is 80% cashmere and 20% wool so they’re not only comfortable but super warm too.

Yes they are touchscreen compatible too.

Final Thoughts

As you start to look into all the potential situations where you need gloves you realize that it’s almost endless.

There are so many gloves on the market and it can be hard to sift through them all to figure out which ones are best for you.

Most people just own one or two pairs of gloves and use them in multiple different scenarios which is totally fine but as a Raynaud’s sufferer I prefer to have the right gloves for the right situation.

It’s become almost like an obsession for me.

There are still quite a few categories that I’ve missed in this article but that’s because some categories are too vast to just lump in with this article.

Stay tuned for some new articles I’ll be publishing soon on hunting gloves, running gloves, gym gloves and cycling gloves.

I hope you enjoyed this article on the best gloves for Raynaud’s disease and I really hope you found it useful.
