Mountain Made Waterproof Gloves Overview

The Mountain Made Waterproof Gloves are a low budget fairly bulky yet professional looking pair of gloves.

The Winter Gloves come in two colors: black for men and white for women. Which already annoys me a little personally that white is only available for the women’s sizes because I think they look pretty smart in white.

The gloves are designed for winter use and so one would expect them to be fairly warm and durable as well as being comfortable.

Comfort

These gloves are very very comfortable. I found them very true to size which is always a good start with gloves.

Although I was slightly disappointed that there was no elasticated cuff but not everything can be perfect right?

Instead the Mountain Made Waterproof Winter Gloves have a crossover tightening strap to keep the glove in place which works just fine.

I found it was slightly uncomfortable but then again I think that’s just because of my personal preference being with an elasticated cuff.

The inside lining of the glove is very soft and feels nice against the skin.

Overall for comfort despite it not necessarily being suitable for me I can appreciate that the vast majority of people would find this a very comfortable glove to wear.

Warmth

Warmth is where the Mountain Made Waterproof Winter Gloves are almost revolutionary.

These gloves are INCREDIBLY warm.

I in fact looked up other reviews online to make sure it’s not just me and no, if anything these gloves can be too warm at times.

Therefore I wouldn’t recommend these gloves for more mild temperatures but perhaps reserve them exclusively for extreme temperatures.

I saw online that other people even used them for skiing or whilst on a motorbike they’re that warm.

If somehow you still find your hands are cold whilst wearing the gloves they do have a zipper pocket situated on the top of the hand which will accommodate a hand warmer.

But in all honesty to need a hand warmer you’ll have to be in some seriously cold temperatures and so if you choose not to use a hand warmer this pocket can comfortably be used for storage of small items.

Water Resistance

The Mountain Made Waterproof  Gloves are entirely waterproof.

I used the gloves during a rain shower and my hands remained perfectly dry. Sometimes if a glove is both very warm and waterproof they can be a little sweaty and I’m afraid I found this to be the case with these gloves because they don’t breathe all that well.

Although don’t let this deter you, for the price to have a glove as warm and water resistant as this is very impressive and fantastic value.

Features

On the palm of the Winter Gloves features what Mountain Made call their ‘Sure Grip’ which I must say provides a great grip on just about anything.

It’s easy to see from the grip, warmth and water resistance properties why people are using these gloves for skiing.

The Sure Grip spans from palm to finger tips giving the hand full coverage.

One feature that I’m a little disappointed is that they are not touch screen friendly.

Having to remove the glove to use devices wouldn’t be very good when you consider the gloves are extremely warm and if you’re in a very cold environment that temperature difference isn’t going to feel pleasant at all.

Final Thoughts

The Mountain Made Waterproof Gloves are perfect for extreme weather use.

Although not designed with the intention of being a ski glove it’s easy to see why they can be used for this purpose as well as for use while on a motorbike or bicycle.

The warmth and water resistant qualities are second to none and given the price of the glove being very reasonable this makes the gloves incredible value for money.

It’s a shame that the glove can sometimes be a little too warm and that they lack touchscreen friendly fingertips but when you consider everything the glove has to offer these are fairly minor sacrifices.

They’re a very good value for money item that I would recommend to anyone either living in or visiting very cold environments.

Thanks very much for stopping by today. If you have any questions or comments please use the field below and I’ll be sure to respond ASAP.

Cheers,

Robert
