The Joe Rocket Ballistic Fusion Gloves are a fairly low budget motorcycling glove which at first glance seem absolutely fantastic value for money.
The gloves comes in black and in my opinion look fairly stylish as well as being obviously practical.
The first thing that hits me in the gloves specifications is that the Joe Rocket Ballistic Fusion Gloves have an antimicrobial lining that is also anti-odor, anti-static and antibacterial making them an incredibly hygienic glove.
Often washing gloves can be a pain with worrying about whether the gloves will be damaged but these qualities mean that more often than not these gloves won’t require any type of cleaning at all.
I don’t want to potentially speak too soon but these gloves appear to be incredible for the amount they cost.
Comfort and Dexterity
After a fantastic first impression the Ballistic Fusion Gloves certainly don’t let themselves down in relation to comfort and dexterity.
The gloves are in no way restricting as they feature a full-flex expansion panel top as well as a heavy duty stretch poly outer shell for advanced mobility.
The two features give the gloves a stretchy feel meaning they can shape and adapt to any hands within reason.
The gloves are then held securely in place with a hood and loop closure at the wrist, this is coupled with a zip cuff rather than a strap. This combination means that there is no chance of the gloves moving around during use and also makes them very comfortable to wear.
These gloves are a reasonably warm glove. They consist of three main layers; a lining, insert and then the outer shell.
These are then held together by Joe Rocket’s bonding technology meaning that they won’t slide over one another which would cause discomfort if the different layers did move.
The fact the gloves have three separate layers means that air is trapped and so heat retention is pretty good. They’re by no means made for extreme weather but you’ll have to be using them in some pretty chilly weather to have cold hands.
The theme of excellence continues as these gloves are also completely waterproof.
They feature an 8000g waterproof and breathable insert which will ensure that your hands remain completely dry in all conditions.
During rain water is kept out by the waterproof insert and during warmer weather any sweat that forms is wicked away thanks to the insert’s breathability.
The Ballistic Fusion gloves certainly don’t let themselves down on safety either. The gloves have high density padding on knuckles, this padding is also then wrapped in goatskin leather.
This means that not only will your knuckles be protected from impacts but the chances of the material on the knuckles tearing is very small thanks to the great durability of the goatskin leather coating.
A small yet nice addition to the gloves is that the Joe Rocket logos are reflective making yourself especially visible during hours of darkness.
The thumb features a shield wiper which is also a nice little addition that not all gloves have.
The palm of the Joe Rocket Ballistic Fusion Gloves is one of the best features of the glove. The palm consists of drum dyed goatskin padded leather which has then had the addition of a silicone printed grip.
This makes gripping things much more comfortable in the gloves thanks to the padding and the silicone grip ensures that you’ll always have a good hold of anything.
For such a reasonable price the Joe Rocket Ballistic Fusion Gloves are simply flawless. They’re not absolutely perfect at everything but a glove in the same price bracket of the Ballistic Fusion Gloves is never going to be.
But there are no obvious flaws to the glove. What sets this glove apart from others is the abundance of safety features as well as the sheer comfort and dexterity of the glove.
Not many gloves have the flexibility of the Ballistic Fusion Gloves which makes them incredibly comfortable compared to many alternative options.
The glove’s little quite unique safety features are what sets them apart for me, the goatskin leather palm and knuckles as well as the thumb shield wiper are pretty good features for a budget glove.
All in all I’d definitely recommend the Joe Rocket Fusion Gloves even if you’re trying to decide between these and the Phoenix gloves.
