Cortech Motorcycle Gloves
I’ve done a lot of motorcycle trips in my day and I can tell you right now that Cortech motorcycle gloves have been very good to me.
They make a reliable, safe, comfortable and stylish pair of gloves that are priced very reasonably.
When I first started riding I had pretty much all Joe Rocket gear mainly because it was cheap and it looked good.
Over time my taste changed and I started to make a little more money so I didn’t mind spending a bit more for something that excited me a little more and that’s how I ended up with a pair of Cortech gloves.
The riding I was doing was a mix of highway and mild off roading so I usually leaned towards more of a dirt bike style glove although I liked the look of the Cortech street bike gloves too.
My first bike was a KLR and that’s actually all I rode for about 10 years because I was part of the cult. I loved everything KLR to the point where it consumed me.
My First Big Trip
The first big trip I did with my KLR was Baja California and I was only 22.
I had next to no experience riding so in hind sight it probably wasn’t the smartest decision given that the only way to get help way out there is to get heli lifted by an American rescue chopper.
That would be expensive and embarrassing so I wanted to make sure that didn’t happen but it would still be better than dying out there.
I was with my brother in law and fortunately he speaks fluent Spanish.
We trailered our bikes to Calexico, parked the truck and trailer there at a relatives house and we were off.
We hit the Mexican boarder and next thing we knew we were in another country. It was a surreal experience driving through the boarder and not even having to stop.
I remember the boarder patrol guy using his rifle to wave use through. It looked like he just didn’t want to do any work so it was easier if he just rushed us through. Seemed insane at the time.
We did the whole peninsula all the way to Cabo San Lucas and then back up again. It took us about 3 weeks. We zig zagged our way down trying to do as much off road as the KLR’s could handle.
We were fully loaded with camping gear and we spent many a nights camping out on a deserted beach in the middle of nowhere. It was pretty magical.
Despite crashing my bike many many times I never did get hurt and somehow the KLR made it through as well.
I broke a foot peg at one point and had to get it welded on in some small town mechanic shop but other than that my bike was doing fine.
I even rode right into a barbed wire fence and came out unscathed. After that we did that same trip 2 more times before I ventured out and tried some new terrain.
I guess the moral of the story is that it doesn’t really matter what kind of gloves you have because you’ll enjoy the ride no matter what.
I know I got a little side tracked and stopped talking about Cortech gloves but I had to tell that story.
Cortech is all about performance enhancing. A lot of people think that Cortech only makes racing gear but really they make gear for all styles of riders.
Here’s a list of some of the areas in which they will help provide us with performance enhancement…..
So really they’re all about making your riding experience better and I guess that’s what you would want out of any motorcycle gear.
Sure we want to protect ourselves the best we can but we also want to be comfortable and look while while doing it.
No matter who you are or what kind of riding you do you have to admit that there is a huge style factor when it comes to motorcycling.
Just look at the Harley guys. Sometimes I think Harley guys don’t even like riding they just like how they look when they’re riding and there’s nothing wrong with that. Actually there is something wrong with that. You should actually enjoy riding lol.
I hope I don’t get hate mail from Harley guys for saying that.
But Cortech Motorcycle gloves basically have it all. I’ve owned 4 different pairs and they all really impressed me.
I’ve done a bit of research and I’ve picked out some Cortech gloves that I think would be ideal for a trip down the Baja or any Enduro riding period. Check it out.
