Best Winter Gloves Intro
Let me be clear that this list of top gloves is not in any specific order.
Since each activity requires a different type of gloves, it would be unfair to say one pair of gloves is better than another.
A pair of winter gloves that is great for running wouldn't be good for skiing and a pair that is good for driving wouldn't be good for snowmobiling.
That's why I've made this list, to show you what the best pair of winter gloves is for all different types of activities and scenarios.
The different categories I've come up with are running/walking, driving, construction work, casual urban, winter cycling, dress gloves, snowmobiling gloves, ski gloves, snowboard gloves, activewear gloves, heated gloves and all round best gloves.
Best All-Round Winter Gloves
If you've read any other articles on this website you've probably heard me talk about Hestra gloves. I bring them up all the time because they truly are an amazing glove company.
Read this article to learn more about the brand itself.
I chose these gloves for best all-round gloves because they are not only great quality, comfortable and warm but they're also pretty versatile
They'll keep your hands dry in wet conditions, they're comfy to wear for long periods of time and they aren't too bulky so you could even wear them driving or cycling as long as it's not for too long.
They're constructed of cowhide leather and let me tell you these gloves are built to last.
They do have a lifetime warranty but chances are you won't need to take advantage of that because these gloves will last you as long as you want.
Quality and craftsmanship is a great way to describe them.
Best Casual Urban Gloves
Casual Urban is one of my favorite categories because it's the one that I find myself using a lot.
I own a pair of these Versaliner's and I use them a lot.
Whether I'm walking the dog, going shopping, heading to an appointment downtown or just leaving town for the weekend these gloves are usually all I need.
They're warm but not bulky. They even have a little pocket on the back of the hand where you can insert a heat pack if the day gets really cold.
I like the silicon dots on the fingers and palm cause it makes for great grip.
All in all these are a great glove if you're bombing around town running errands or whatever you get up to on the weekends.
Best Snowmobiling Gloves
Snowmobiling demands a lot from a pair of gloves. They need to be extremely warm, waterproof, durably, dexterous and they definitely need a good size gauntlet.
These Klim summit gloves check all of those boxes and then some.
You can't go wrong with these gloves and pretty much anything else Klim makes as they're a high end brand with a passion for motor sports.
When you wanna get out a shred for a long day and you don't want to worry about cold, wet or uncomfortable hands these are the gloves you should be buying.
Completely waterproof and really warm.
They have a medium sized gauntlet with a cinch strap on the end of it as well as a strap and buckle around the wrist to prevent a yard sale when you eat it bad.
The palms are a tough leather which gives you good grip for doing up your bindings and is also tough enough not to rip.
You can't go wrong with these ones.
You might be surprised to see a lobster style glove on this list for the cycling category but here me out because they are awesome.
The setup this way because it gives you both warmth and dexterity. With the fingers this way you can still easily shift and brake but your fingers will stay warmer than a regular glove because of the way they're grouped together.
These particular gloves do a great job at keeping the breeze out so even on the cold windy days your fingers will stay warm.
They're also waterproof and super durable so you won't have to replace these for a long time and believe me you won't want to either.
Whether you're operating hand tools, power tools, hauling lumber or drywall these gloves will keep your hands safe and warm without messing with your dexterity.
These gloves are super warm despite the fact that the dexterity is still great.
You'll even be able to handle small screws without concern.
In addition to the warmth and dexterity these work gloves will prevent cuts, bruises and scrapes even in the toughest work environments.
The Harrms Best Nappa driving gloves are unbelievable value. These gloves are under $30 and they feel like a $100 pair of gloves when you wear them.
It's no surprise they're just a big seller on Amazon.
If you've ever bought a pair of winter driving gloves you've probably come to the same conclusion as me....They're too bulky.
So many winter driving gloves are bulky with insulation which make them less comfortable and less fun to drive in.
These gloves are perfect. They're not too bulky and they have awesome grip.
This day and age all of our cars have heat. We're not looking for a super warm glove that will keep us warm in sub zero temperatures.
A good winter driving glove should be focused on driving with just a small focus on warmth.
The warmth comes in handy when you're scraping your windshield or when the car hasn't quite warmed up and the steering wheel is still ice cold.
That's what makes these gloves so great. Just the right balance between warmth, performance and comfort. They also look good too.
What do I mean by extreme cold activewear? Basically I mean the regular things you like to do outside but on those crazy cold days.
Most days you won't need an extreme winter glove but when those sub zero days come you'll love these Canada Goose mitts.
They're crazy warm, crazy comfy and very well made.
Canada Goose is a high end brand so don't be surprised at the high price tag of these mitts.
You might be surprised that my pick for winter running gloves isn't Pearl Izumi, The North Face or Outdoor Research but these Ozero gloves are a real hidden gem.
They're just as good as those more well known brands but they're way cheaper.
They have a nice grip on them and they are touchscreen compatible which is ever so important when running in the cold.
I love that these gloves are low profile but still super warm, the material feels great on the skin too.
There are a lot of amazing ski gloves out there so to say that these are the best is saying a lot.
I recently wrote and article where I ranked the top 10 best ski gloves on the market and these ones were my number one pick.
They have everything you could need or want in a ski glove and they're made with so much care and attention that nothing was missed.
In the end the quality, comfort and functionality of these gloves is what made them stand out from the rest.
Yet another pair of Hestra gloves on this list. I think you're probably starting to realize how awesome Hestra is at making gloves.
These business attire gloves are perfect for the city, heading to the office or going to an evening gala.
They'll not only keep your hands warm for years to come but they'll look great for as long as you wish to wear them.
The leather just gets better with age and they'll form to your hand as the years go by. This could be the last pair of gloves you ever buy.
If you're not familiar with heated gloves then you need to read this article.
Heated gloves is a trend that's growing big time in the winter gear industry and believe me when I say that it's not going away anytime soon.
The technology has come so far and now when you buy a high quality pair of heated gloves like these Lenz gloves you'll feel how nice it is to have a little electricity providing some warmth.
It's a real game changer. It can be sub zero temperatures and your hands will be toasty warm to the point you'll want to turn the heat down a little.
I love them and I think you will too.
